About The Founder
The programs at WoundedTigerMusic.com are crafted by Jeff Ehrlich, a passionate advocate for recreational music and a firm believer in its power to connect and transform. Jeff's unique approach to music education stems from a journey that’s anything but conventional.
Despite receiving classical training on piano and trumpet—an experience he candidly describes as having taught him to "hate music"—Jeff reconnected with his musical spirit after a 27-year hiatus. An impromptu jam session reignited his passion, leading him to play music recreationally nearly every day since.
Jeff's enthusiasm for instruments, how they work mechanically, and how they fit musically is infectious. He's acquired basic skills on a wide array of instruments, including digital keyboard, piano, drums (hand drums and drum kit), harmonica, violin, wooden flute, and rhythm guitar.
His academic background includes a BS in Psychology from Central Michigan University (1985), with a concentration in Motivation and Learning, which deeply informs his teaching philosophy. In 2007, he further honed his skills by earning a Drum Circle Facilitation Certificate from Arthur Hull.
Currently, Jeff is an active member of the Shamaniac's Drum Troupe, performing traditional African rhythms on the djembe. He's also been a professional piano tuner since 2009 and provides private instruction in digital keyboard and digital recording. An ambient music creator since 2004, Jeff challenged himself in January 2025 to create and post a finished ambient song video every day for 31 days. (tonetraveler.net)
For Jeff, music is all about the experience. He often says he seeks opportunities to be "the worst musician on stage," emphasizing that the joy and connection of creating music together far outweigh individual virtuosity. It’s this philosophy that you'll find at the heart of the programs at Wounded Tiger Music. com
